Old generation hydra cranes are banned at most construction sites because they provide poor visibility for the operator as the cabin is in line with the boom axis. Many accidents have occurred due to this design flaw. New generation hydra cranes have improved safety by positioning the operator's cabin away from the boom axis, giving the operator better visibility of the work area.
