Assignment 2A - Portfolio
After you have read this information, head over to the Assignment 2A: Q&A discussion board to ask any questions and see what your peers
are saying about this assignment.
This portfolio assignment requires you to work in a team of three to four (3–4) to produce a collection of information, resources and
reflections that will help you develop your skills in teaching Health and Physical Education. This assignment constitutes the first part of your
portfolio. Assignment 2B: Portfolio will cover the second part.
By gathering information into a portfolio, your team will demonstrate an ability to identify, evaluate and transmit ideas about effective
principles, policies and practices for developing Health and Physical Education within a primary school setting. This assignment
requires you to add a reflective dialogue and track your team’s reasons for including specific evidence. Your portfolio should not just be a
collection of resources. It is important to have evidence of academic and reflective underpinning, without which you will not pass the
assignment.
You are to work collaboratively with your team and produce one final assignment submission. You will get one mark for the whole team.
You are required to produce evidence of teamwork throughout the process and the workload should be distributed fairly among the team.
You must keep a record of each team member’s contributions and attach this as an appendix to the assessment. The appendix is not
included in the word count.

only need one resource for each theme/topic area.

Your portfolio must be submitted using the Assignment 2A Portfolio template (DOC 39 KB) provided.
Each of your portfolio items must be fully referenced in APA style.
A record of each team member’s contribution must be attached as an appendix to the assignment. Note: For this you may use
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel or a template of your choosing.
Please note: references and appendix items are not included within the word limit.
Each team member must make a fair contribution. If you gain an unfair advantage through team work, it counts as academic misconduct
and if proven, you will be awarded a zero mark for your result and be subjected to related discipline. According to Swinburne’s policy,
gaining an unfair advantage is when a student claims an equal share of the marks, but has done one or more of the following:
contributes less than an equal share to a group assignment and then claims an equal share of the work or marks
does not turn up to group meetings and/or does not contribute in group meetings
does not undertake their share of the work with the appropriate level of care and attention
does not complete their allocated section(s) of work.
