Introduction:

Target shooting is performed by hobbyist shooters and military personnel for the improvement of
their shooting skills. The standard size of these shooting ranges is declared to be 100 meters in
length, with distance as such, it is impractical for the shooters to locate the bullet holes hence
making it difficult for them to calculate the score. Additionally, manual scoring is time
consuming and laborious task so to tackle this issue, automatic scoring systems are introduced.
There are different target scoring systems that are deployed at firing ranges for the detection of
bullets and as well as automatic scoring. Some of them are: Acoustic based scoring system,
optical evaluation system, electronic shooting targets.
We propose a computer vision based hits detection and automatic scoring system
