Residential Building Design Using Excel Program Final

The document provides material properties and load calculations for designing wooden purlins and trusses. Mahogany wood with the given properties is used. Load calculations include wind, roof, and self weight. Purlins with dimensions of 2" x 6" and 0.7m spacing are designed and found to be safe against bending, shear, and deflection. The truss is designed with a 2.5m span. Components including the top chord (3" x 6"), bottom chord (2" x 4"), diagonal (3" x 4") and vertical (2" x 6") are designed and found to satisfy strength requirements.
