ENGLISH 10 DAILY LESSON LOG

FIRST QUARTER
Tuesday (October 8, 2019)

I. OBJECTIVES:

A. CONTENT STANDARD:
 The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literatures and other text
types serve as vehicles of expressing and resolving conflicts among individuals
or groups; also how to use strategies in critical reading, listening, and viewing,
and affirmation and negation markers to deliver impromptu and extemporaneous
speeches.

B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
 The learner proficiently delivers an argumentative speech emphasizing how to
resolve conflicts among individuals or groups.

C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES/ OBJECTIVES:

 Recognize examples of moods and tones.


 Appreciate the mood and tone in a reading selection.
 Determine mood and tone of the given reading selection.

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson:

 Let the students arrange the following words to define mood and tone.
 Bet on My Classmate Game: Have four volunteer/s to differentiate mood and
tone.
B. Establish a purpose for the lesson:

 Let the students read the purpose and objectives of the lesson by group.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson:

 Have the students play the Tic-Tac-Toe game.


 Let the students explain their answers.

D. Discussing new concepts

 Ask the students to give the mood/tone appropriate on the given pictures.
 Have the students gather the information in determining the mood and tone of a
given selection.
 Let the students read the given selection and ask them to determine the mood and
tone.

E. Practicing new skill

 Freeze-Frame Game/ Still image


 The students will create an image using their bodies to show the mood and tone of
the given selection.

 Let the students share their appreciation in learning how to determine the mood
and tone of a particular selection.
