2. Introduction to Computer Fundamentals


Computer Fundamentals is intended for anyone interested in knowing about computers.In
today’s information age,computers are used in every occupation .They are used by people of
all ages and professions,in their work as well as in their leisure.This new social revolution has
changed the basic concept of “computing”.Computing is no more limited to computer
programmers and computer engineers.It has become an activity of common man.

Course Objective

 The course aims to provide insight to the basics of computer fundamentals.


 It also covers the basic concepts of computers, algorithms and introduces the concepts
of operating systems.
 To familiarize students with the MS Office Package(MS word, MS Excel, MS
PowerPoint)

Learning Outcomes:

After completion this course the students will be able to:


 Understand basics of computer.
 Convert numbers from one number system to another.
 Make algorithms.
 Familiar with MS Office Package
