Not everyone is born with an inbuilt sense of self-confidence.

Sometimes it can be hard to develop confidence, either

because personal experiences have caused you to lose
confidence or because you suffer from low self-esteem.

A confident person does what they believe is right, even if

it’s unpopular

He is willing to take risks and admits their mistakes and

learns from them

He is optimistic and is able to accept a compliment.

There are a number of things that I do to build my

confidence. Some of them are just small changes in my frame
of mind; others I am still working on for a bit longer to make
them familiar habits.

First, I look at what I’ve already achieved.

It’s easy to lose confidence if you believe you haven’t

achieved anything. So I try to recall the things I am proud of
in my life, whether it’s getting a good mark on an exam or
learning to surf. I keep a list close by and add to it whenever
I make an achievement or small successes. When I am low in
confidence, I pull out the list and use it to remind myself of
all the awesome stuff I have done.

Second, I think of things I am good at.

I recognize the talents and skills I can do and what I excel at.
I try to build on those things to build confidence in your own
abilities.

Third is I set some goals

I Set some goals and set out the steps I need to take to
achieve them. They don’t have to be big goals; they can even
be things like finishing a novel that read or planning an event
with friends. I just aim for some small achievements that I
can tick off a list to help me gain confidence in my ability to
get stuff done.

Fourth, I get a hobby

I Try to find something that I am really passionate about. It

could be photography, sport, or anything else! When I’ve
worked out your passion, I commit myself to giving it a go.
Chances are, if I am interested or passionate about a certain
activity, I am more likely to be motivated and I build skills
more quickly. The more skills I build, the better I feel about
myself and the more confident I become.

Lastly, I talk myself up

You’re never going to feel confident if you have negative

commentary running through your mind telling you that
you’re no good. I treat myself like I would my best friend and
cheer myself on. I do positive self talk and push myself of
with kind and inspiring words to boost me on.
With stress, I manage it by finding time for myself. I learn
skills and get hobbies so that I have a diversion. I also try to
find time for myself where I could just do anything I want like
nap, read, meditate, listen to music. I just chill. I also take
deep breaths and I pause whenever there is a stressful
situation. When a stressful situation comes in I relax and
calm my mind so I can think straight. When there are
stressful persons, I try to distance myself so I will not get
their negative vibe. I also try to think that I the way they are
have nothing to do with me. At the end of a stressful day I
talk to a friend or colleague with whom I could share a talk
or drink. I also go out once in a while outdoors to be one with
nature. They say that vitamin D triggered by sunlight can
beat stress. Well, that’s how I manage stress.
