1.source Transformation Technique Problems

The document discusses how to convert between voltage sources in series and current sources in parallel. It explains that a voltage source in series with a resistance can be converted to an equivalent current source in parallel with the same resistance, and vice versa. To do this, a load resistor is attached to each circuit and the voltage and current delivered to the load are equated to ensure equivalence between the circuits. The process involves calculating the current produced by the voltage source and resistance, and the voltage across the current source and resistance, to relate the source values.

Source Transformation
• A Voltage Source with a Series can be
converted into an equivalent current source
with parallel resistance(Same). Conversely,
• A current source with a parallel resistance can
be converted into voltage source with a series
resistance(same).

2
Source transformation
• Convert the voltage
source in series with R
into an equivalent
current source in
parallel with the SAME
R!

• And vice-versa.

3
How to make them equivalent??

• Attach a load resistor (the same one) to each

circuit, and ensure that each circuit delivers the
same voltage and current to the load.
