Why do we need to release member in

staad pro?
I am working on steel structure. i know that for analyzing purpose, i have to provide release in secondary beam.
But what if i don't provide? When i have to release Mx, My, Mz? why?

Any help will be appreciated.

You should release moments to avoid torsion on main beam. In steel if pinned connection you should release
moments.

Hi, what about RC structures? Is the same concept can be applied to RC structures as well? As we know,
joint/connection between RC members has slightly stiffness which could create little moment in reality.

When you provide release that means beam not transfer Bending moment to other beam. In other words you can
say that is Simply Supported beam.

In nut shell, release provide and not is depend on Support condition which you assume while analysis..

Keep in mind If you not provide release then you have to provide Fixed Support condition at beam to beam joint.
