Network Design Synopsis

The document discusses designing a medium scale organization network. It will implement various topologies, email service, web hosting, DHCP server, and FTP server to enhance performance metrics. It aims to provide security to data transmission and increase transmission speed. The project scope is to allow global data transmission securely. Methodologies like CISCO Packet Tracer, SMTP, FTP, TELNET, VLAN, and PORT SECURITY will automate the secure information flow. Hardware requirements include a processor, RAM, and CISCO Packet Tracer software. Testing will evaluate data and network transmission.

Points to be focused in the synopsis: -

 Problem Statement

 Why Is the Particular Topic Chosen?

 Objectives of The Project

 Scope of The Project

 Methodologies Adopted

 Hardware and Software to Be Used

 Testing Technologies Used

Problem Statements: -
Implementation of various topologies, e-mail service, web hosting, DHCP Server,
FTP Server for Wide Area Network to enhance the performance metrics such as
packet loss, through put and delay also we’ll use Telnet for Remote Control and
Port Security for Secure Admin
Area, For IP consumption and liberating
Cable we’ll use Vlan technology also.

Why Is the Particular Topic Chosen?

The reason we chose this particular topic as our project as it provides security to
the data in data transmission, the data will flow in a smooth manner and at a very
high speed. The data will be transferred securely i.e. data will flow in an encrypted
form. It means the data will be transferred in some code or symbol no one can
easily read it or understand it. The reader must have a public key or a private key
to read the data and also for the decryption of data. We have used FTP Server
also i.e. File Transfer Protocol, for the transmission of
data, or uploading of data and the downloading of data securely.

Objectives of The Project: -

 Handles multiple users at the same time.

 Support for both private as well as public
data transmission.
 User login available while new users
can be added by admin only.
 Support for file transfer.
 Support for data uploading.
 Support for data downloading.
 It provides security to the data in data transmission.
 Increases the speed of data
transmission.
 Multiple user can connect with DHCP Server and it also provide auto
IP configuration.

Scope of The Project: -

The World Wide Web is a network of information, accessible via an easy-to-
use interface. The information is often presented in hypertext or multimedia
and provided by servers located around the world. The usability of the Web
depends largely on the performance of these servers.
It means users can transit their data globally also data will transmit securely.
Methodologies Adopted: -

The entire process will be automated using CISCO Packet Tracer

technology and SMTP, FTP, TELNET, VLAN, PORT SECURITY, DHCP
Server to smoothen the flow of information in a highly secure environment
across the network.

Hardware and Software to Be Used: -

 Hardware requirements: -For the hardware requirements, the SRS

specifies the logical characteristics of each interface between the
software product and the hardware components. It specifies the
hardware requirements like memory restrictions, the processor, RAM
size, etc. those are required for the software to run.
Minimum hardware requirement: -
 Processor Core i3
 RAM 4GB

 Software requirements: - CISCO Packet Tracer is an application to a

design a virtual network for data transmission across the world.
 Operating system such as windows 7, 8, 10, Linux, etc.

Testing Technologies Used: -

 Data Transmission Testing
 Network Testing
