Django was built in the fall of 2003. when the web programmers on the Lawrence
Journal-World newspaper, Adrian Holovaty, plus Simon Willison, started using Python to
develop applications. This was released publicly below a BSD permit in July 2005. The
framework was called after guitarist Django Reinhardt.

2003 − I started with Adrian Holovaty, Simon Willison as an internal project on the
Lawrence Journal-World newspaper.

2005 − Released July 2005 and called it Django, after the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.
