THEME

A theme is what changes the general outlook of your blog. This ranges from page layout, widget
locations and default font and color choices. We offer a broad range of themes to choose from in the
Theme Showcase. Each theme has an about page that includes features and instructions to guide you on
what exactly you want. If you feel like none of the themes are satisfactory, we always add new themes
on Trending view in the Theme Showcase.

Let's use the theme ‘Château' as an example,

Browse Themes

We have over 370 WordPress Themes, to view all of the themes go over to My Sites then click on
Themes menu option in your site's dashboard.

You can reorganize these themes by clicking the links for Trending, Popular, and Newest at the top of
the page. You can further sieve it into premium and free.

There are special types of filters reserved for food bogs, photography, music, business, and portfolio.

Search Themes

If you already have a theme in mind, go over to the search box, and you will see the themes that match.
The count number shows the number of themes that much your criteria and the theme are displayed
according to your view mode, such as Trending.

Preview Themes
To preview a theme before activating it, go to My Sites then Themes. Click on the three dots to the right

of the themes name, and then click on Try & Customize. This will, in turn, show you a preview of the
theme at hand if you have content on your site.

Another way of previewing your chosen theme is by clicking on My Sites then Themes. Click on the three
dots after that Details. Try out the theme by clicking on the Demo button that appears on the top right
of the details screen.

Activate a Theme

To activate a theme, go to My Sites then to Themes in any site's dashboard or the Theme Showcase.
Click on the three dots to the right of the theme's name and then click on Activate.

Theme Features

Click on the theme's thumbnail to view its features in the customizer. If you like this theme, click on Save
& Activate or Purchase button in the top left corner of the customizer window. If the theme does not
reach your satisfaction, click on the X button at the top left the corner of the Customizer Window to
back out and continue browsing for a more suitable theme.

Premium Themes

In addition to our many free themes, we offer a wide selection of Premium Themes that feature mind-
blowing customization options and exclusive support from their creators. If you prefer switching themes
often or want unlimited access to the newest premium theme offerings, you ought to consider the
Business Upgrade.

Uploading Custom Themes

Uploading a custom theme or a third party theme is only reserved to those who are using self- hosted
sites using the WordPress.org software. This means that you cannot upload any themes to your
WorPpress.com site.
Editing Themes

If you are using the WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business you can easily modify your
themes however WordPress.com does not have that option. The prior comes with Custom Design
whereby you can customize the color and font without having to code.

It is not necessary to know the code language to change either font or color. However, you need to have
some CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) knowledge to make changes using the CSS editor in spite of the built I
tools.
