I. GENERAL
a. Textbook – Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud Revealed, Elizabeth Eisner Reding, Cengage
Learning
b. Course Length – Full Academic Year
c. Tutoring – Available during Individual Learning Time (ILT) on a daily basis upon request.
After school sessions available upon request.
d. Redo Policy – Assignments are due on assigned dates. Late submissions will be
accepted, but grade reductions will result. Late submission within the assigned school
week will result in a one letter grade reduction for the assignment. Late submission
within two school weeks will result in a two letter grade reduction for the assignment.
Submissions will not be accepted after two weeks past the assigned due date (resulting
grade will be zero/F).

II. COURSE AND GRADING INFORMATION
a. Class Requirements – This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge
and skills needed to utilize digital imaging software in editing and designing images and
graphics. Student will learn the use of technologies related to digital imaging such as:
basic computer operations, file sharing across networks, digital scanning, digital
photography, and preparing documents for output to various types of media.
b. Student Responsibilities -- Students need to come prepared for class each day.
 Bring your textbook.
 Students bring something to write with to be able to take notes during class.
 Students have paper to write on when taking notes.
 Students have a notebook or folder to store notes, class handouts, and
completed quizzes and tests.
c. Course Plan - Q1 Getting Started, Photoshop Basics, Working with Layers,
Making Selections, Incorporating Color Techniques
Q2 Placing Type in Images, Painting Tools, Special Layer Functions,
Filter Effects, Enhancing Specific Selections
Q3 Adjusting Colors, Masks/Paths/Shapes, Type Transformations,
Liquefying, Image Surgery
Q4 Annotating and Automating Images, Images for the Web,
Animation/Video & Photography
d. Grading – 50% Major Tests
30% Quizzes
10% Projects
10% Class Participation and Preparedness
III. DISCIPLINE PLAN
a. Classroom Rules/Consequences
i. Raise your hand and get permission before you speak.
ii. Keep all belongings and body parts to yourself.
iii. Keep your head up and eyes open at all times.
iv. Stay in your assigned seat unless you have permission to move.
v. Follow all adult instructions immediately and completely.

Failure to follow these basic rules will result in initiation of the ABE Disciplinary
process.

b. Positive Reinforcement/Incentives
i. Class Participation contribution to grade will be a direct reflection of student
commitment to learning and coming to class properly prepared. Extra Credit
assignments may be given from time to time, or extra credit questions included
on quizzes/tests to motivate student performance.
