How Do I Prepare For CFA Level 1 in 60 Days

To prepare for the CFA Level 1 exam in 60 days, the document recommends the following steps: 1) Spend at least 300 hours studying, focusing on concepts and formulas as Level 1 tests concepts. 2) Get necessary study materials like video lectures, question banks, pens and notebooks organized in advance. 3) Follow a schedule of 2 days per subject to review video lectures and notes, solve practice questions, and create a "cheat sheet" of important formulas and concepts. 4) Practice solving mock exams daily in the last 20 days, and review weak areas identified to optimize preparation in the limited time available.

How do I prepare for CFA level 1 in 60 days?

Nimesh Gala, studied at Chartered Financial Analysts (2013)

Thanks for A2A.

60 days is tough for studies required for any CFA level, if you pass don't go about saying that
I passed CFA level 1 with 60 days of studies, they wouldn't know how much effort you've put
and will not take it seriously and lose dough.

At least, 300 hours of studies is required for passing any level.

Let me go over a generic plan regards of the background and if you've done any studies
before today.

Its necessary to be with family, they will keep your supply for food, water, tea, snacks
coming, so that you don't have to waste your time on it.

Also forget your friends / family, tell them if they love you, let you be you for the next two
months.

Before you start, keep the following ready,

 Blue pen, Black pen, Red pen, one small notebook per subject or two subjects
 Video lectures from at least 2 sources per topic (you'll find a lot of them on
youtube, I liked Arif Irfanullah (tried his lectures during my level 3, easy to
understand and he goes into details, stresses on concepts) and one more provider
of your choice, go thru few lectures to see if you are able to grasp what's being said)
 Get your hands on as many Mock exams as you can and Question Bank
Your target is the First Saturday in June = T. Read in Reverse order.

T Break = Go thru your red ink notes and see what you were expecting to come and didn't
come in exam. Revise. Don't drink a lot of water, you don't want to waste time in going to
loo.

T Morning = Pray and seek blessings from your parents / elders / God. You've put good
effort in studies, now is the time to put it play in the exams. Have light breakfast (Tea and
chappati), Also ask your Mom / Wife to pack Tea and biscuits / chappati for you, you don't
want to waste time in looking for chai tapri during the break. Also don't drink a lot of water,
you don't want to waste time in going to loo.

T-1 Evening = Take your books and tear off all the pages with red ink (explained later).
That's your cheat sheet for, read thru it tonight, morning of the exam and between the
break. Eat something light like khicadi, you don't want to eat something that will make you
uneasy during the exams.

T-1 Morning = Ethics, no matter how boring it is, read Ethics from CFA curriculum book,
and answer all questions from end of chapter and Question bank.
T-2 to T-7 = Solve as many mock exams, as you can and time yourself, solve at least 3 a day,
morning, afternoon and evening, see where you went wrong and correct your
understanding.

T-8 to T-20 = Solve all end of chapter questions from curriculum books, reason, those are
the questions that came in past exams. And reset your question bank and solve all questions
again

T-21 to T-59 = Two days per subject, watch 2 videos (one per provider), take notes with blue
pen for provider 1 and black pen for provider 2, solve a few random questions from question
bank. Any important formula or understanding (for e.g. if interest rates go down, bond
prices go up and vice versa) has to be noted in red pen on a separate page.

T-60 = Meet your friends / girl friend for last time, tell them you won't be available for next
two months.

Level 1 curriculum will give you basics of everything that you need for the other two levels,
so can be bit steep learning curve for some.

Seriousness aside, there is abundant knowledge, focus on concepts, why things happen.
Level 1 is test mostly of concepts and formulas.

Hope this helps.
