General Mechanics of The Contests

There are 4 individual contests and 2 group contests for students in grades 7-10 revolving around the theme of "Reading: Key to a Good Future." The individual contests are logo making, poster/slogan making, essay, and reading proficiency. The group contests are a speech choir of 20 students and dance interpretation of 15 students. GENERAL MECHANICS OF THE CONTESTS

There are 4 individual contests and 2 group contests for Grades 7-10.

The individual contests are the following:

1. Logo Making Contest


2. Poster and Slogan making Contest
3. Essay Contest
4. Reading Proficiency Test

The Group Contests are:

1. Speech Choir Contest which is composed of 20 students


2. Dance Interpretation Contest which is composed of 15 students.

There are specific Mechanics and Criteria for judging each contest which
revolves around one theme which is “Reading: Key to a Good Future.”

Grade Level Elimination Round

A. Reading Proficiency Contest


1. All Grade Level English Teachers conduct Reading Proficiency Test in
their respective handled classes. Whoever gets the highest score
advances to the next level of Reading Proficiency competing with other
winners of each section. The highest pointer is declared as the winner
in each grade levels. There is no intergrade level competition. There is
only one declared winner for each grade level.

B. Individual Contests
a. Poster and Slogan making Contest
b. Essay Contest
c. Reading Proficiency Test
 All Grade level English Teachers conduct the
abovementioned Individual contests in their respective
handled classes revolving in one theme: “Reading: A Key
to Good Future.”
 Each Grade Level English Teachers organizes a
competition among handled classes and chooses one
participant for each individual contests to compete with
other teachers’ representatives. The number of teachers
in each grade level is the same as the number of
contestants in the Grade level competition.
 The winners in the Grade Level Competition will advance
to the Inter-Grade Level competition or the Grand finals
during the last week of November.

C. Group Contests
a. Speech Choir Competition
b. Interpretative Dance Competition
 Each Grade Level English Teachers divide each handled
classes into two groups to compete in the Group
Contests. 15-member requirement for the Interpretative
Dance and 20 for the Speech Choir.
 Grade level teachers decide on their own literary and
musical piece.
 Grade level elimination is organized and whoever
proclaimed as the winners will compete in the Inter-Grade
level competition or the Grand Finals which will happen
on the last week of November.
