JOB DESCRIPTION FOR HSE ADVISOR

Key skills Required


SARS Certification
NEBOSH-IGC
ISO 1800 or ISO 45001 Auditor
Knowledge in Trakhees requirements
Experience Structural & Piping Erection
Minimum 1-year work experience in Jebelali Free zone.
5-year experience as HSE professional
Degree / Diploma

 Liaison with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety issues
 Records of statutory inspections are available for project activities, tool and plant
 Provide guidance for a Safety Management system
 Coordinate Site induction & training, Maintain records
 Identify Project PPE & Support resourcing
 Compile & carry out Toolbox talks, as necessary
 Ensure Welfare & Hygiene facilities are in place
 Undertakes inspection and maintenance of all emergencies HSE equipment and
prepare it for an emergency
 Actively involve in educating & preparing personnel to meet all types of
emergencies and essentially conducting and ensuring “People-Engagement
Processes” and help build a knowledge data base to educate and train staff and
officers
 Monitor Work Practices/Conditions and carry out safety inspections, Safety
surveys, Safe/at risk observations (a technique of on the job training and
identifying prominent areas for Improvement)
 Investigate accidents including near miss and first aid cases to suggest
management remedial measures to avoid recurrence to ensure compliance with
HSE Standard
 Coordinate mock drill/emergency drill to maintain effectiveness of emergency
preparedness plan.
 Continuous monitoring of lifting, heavy structural erection, scaffolding erection,
crane operations, piping erection activities.
 Ensure all injuries, accidents, incidents/near misses and hazards are positively
and timely reported and record. Carry out accident investigation where necessary
as per procedure.
 Investigate HSE violations, advising operation team for corrective action and
ensuring the implementation of the corrective action.
 Suggest ways to fix unsafe condition in the work areas.
 Identify the requirement of permit to work system by involving with operation
team during risk assessment workshop
 Ensuring the compliance of permit to work system for the high-risk activities
 Ensuring the communication and implementation of risk assessment.
 Ensure the company QHSE policies and procedures are implemented at the site.
 Ensure the implementation of the project health and safety plan, emergency
plan, method statement for every activity at site.
 Identification of potential hazardous area for critical inspection.
 Job safety induction / tool box meeting
 Issue work permit and check work area prior to start of work.
 Coordinating safety meetings
 Assist and give inputs to the project execution team to prepare Risk assessment
for the scheduled work to be performed.
 Promote safety awareness.
