Roof By Extrusion

EXAMPLE 1

1) Make a Reference line from Start and to the End.


2) Click Ref. Plane Start and End
Ref line –Roof start

Ref line –Roof end

3)Click the Ref. Plane & Name it From Start & End

CREATING THE ROOF BY EXTRUSION

3) Click Architecture-Roof by Extrusion

4) Specify the New Work Plane


Click Name –Reference Plane:Roof Start - OK

5) Click Elevation View: West then Open View


(From Start is in the Elevation West)

6) Elevation West is displayed then switch to Level 1 where the Roof to be extruded.
Click OK

7) Revit now is in the Sketch mode & draw the profile using the Draw Pallette.

8) Draw the Curve using Arc.

9) Assign Roof type in the Properties and Duplicate and edit the properties.
10) Click Finish mode

11)Drag the Grip to the End Roof Ref line.

11) Select all the drawing and filter.

12) Uncheck Roof and OK

13) Attach Top Base – Select Roof as the Top Base

After attaching:

CREATING CUTOUT IN THE ROOF

14) Go to Plan View and select the Roof created

15) Click Vertical Opening

16) Set the Transparency or Wire frame of the Roof

17) Start creating Lines using Draw Palette

18) Click the Finish mode after finish sketching.

EXAMPLE 2

1) Create a Floor Plan as per below

2) Make 2 Reference Line (Roof Start And Roof End)

3) Click Architecture-Roof by Extrusion


4) Click Name and make Roof Start as a Reference plane –Click OK

5) To Make a Sketch Go to Elevation View – West
Then open View

6) Roof Reference Level and offset – Level 2 then Click OK

7) Start sketch by using the Draw Pallette.


Click Finish mode

8) Go to 3D View, Select All and Filter

9) Select/check only wall


10) Click Attach Top Base
(Wall to be attached in the Roof)

11) Click the Roof

12) CUTOUT
Goto Plan View(Level 3) to make a cut out.

13) Click the Roof & Vertical Opening to make a cutout

14) Make a cuout using Draw Palette and Click Finish mode
