PROCEDURE IN MAKING FLOOR PLAN

1) File – New Drawing – acad.dwg


2) Set Units.
Type Units in Command Bar Click New & Type New Style Name DIMS 100
Then click Continue
Use millimeters (mm) for our project.

Line Settings:

3) Set Limits.
For A3 paper size – 42000, 29700

For A1 paper size – 84100, 59400

4) Set the Dimension Style


Symbols & Arrows settings:
Type DIMSTYLE in the command bar.

Text Settings:

Click OK and SET CURRENT.

5) Create LAYERS(assign colors each layers)

Walls -Green
Doors -Cyan
Windows - red
Furniture - color 252
Dimensions - white
Grids - color 21

MULTI LINE STYLE(DRAWING WALLS)

6) Type MLSTYLE in the command bar

Fit Settings:
Command: MLSTYLE

Primary Units:

OK, SAVE AND SET CURRENT.

7) Start Drawing Walls Using Multiline(ML) 14) Hatch the Walls, etc.
in the Drawing Area. 15) Make Title Block in the Model

Command: ML A3 size – 420 x 297


A1 size – 841 x 594

16) Insert Title block in the Layout


TYPE J for JUSTIFICATION
17) Insert Viewport in the Layout as per
Top – top or left of wall
Scale.
zero – centerline of wall
Bottom – right or bottom of wall
Menu: Layout - Rectangular
Set the Scale of the Viewport & Lock
Type S for Scale – thickness of the wall
150mm for external wall
18) Align the drawings in the Layout.
100mm for the internal wall
19) Print the Drawing or Print as PDF.

ST(Style) - Wall

8) Explode the Wall & Trim, etc.

Layer – Walls
Color – Green
Lineweight – 0.30mm

9) Make Grids & Dimensions

Layer – Grids
Color – 21
Lineweight – 0.20mm

10) Draw Doors & Windows or insert blocks


11) Label the Doors & windows with Tag
12) Label the floor plan with text

Command: MTEXT

Text size – 175


Font - Arial
Layer – Text S-100
Color – Green

13) Insert Furniture Blocks in the Drawings

Layer – Furniture
Color – 252
