Lesson Plan in Science 10: Cesar E. Vergara Memorial High School

This lesson plan covers four days of instruction on plate tectonics and related topics in Science 10. Day 1 will focus on finishing previous introductory lessons and safety procedures in the science laboratory. Day 2 will introduce plate tectonics and have students mark boundaries on a world map. Day 3 will describe different plate boundary types and the distribution of volcanoes and earthquakes. Students will analyze a map of plate boundaries and conduct an activity on convergent boundaries. Day 4 will discuss geologic events at oceanic plate convergences and have students complete additional activities to develop mastery of these concepts.
