 Using my children as my example, my daughter
Jaylie ‘s (9years) early cognitive development is
fast, she learns fast, talks and reads early for her
age. But now that she is in her elementary stage
her development slows down in terms of behavior,
attitudes and cognitive development, it’s as if she
is undergoing stages of development where as it is
gradually developing. My son Liam’s (7 years)
early stage of development is gradual. He talks
fluently when he reaches the age 6, his
communication skills develops slowly unlike her
sister. But now that he is also in his elementary
years, e is somewhat developing fast, learning fast
but also is undergoing stages of gradual
development.

 This are my 2 kids both in elementary school Jaylie 9 years old

and Liam 7 years old. Even if they both came from me as their
mother and both are in their early childhood stage they were
very much different from each other. They differ in their
hobbies, likes, dislikes but also shares the same character.
Jaylie loves to dance and do gymnast while Liam is more
inclined into academic area and is excellent in Math.
 If children come from good home with loving and caring
parents, they may develop into warm and responsible children,
adolescents and adults. If they come from deprived
environment , they may develop into carefree and
irresponsible adolescents and adults.
 As a future educator, we should learn how to discover our
students strengths and weaknesses. We should also learn to
develop and encourage them to improved their talents.

Reflection: AN SAKUYANG PAGDAKULA
A teacher plays a big role in the children’s development
process as a whole especially on their psychological, emotional,
spiritual and intellectual development. A child spends most of
their time at school that is why a teacher should know how to
handle different types of children; be it slow or fast learner. A
teacher should master the act of empathy because in that way
you will be able to understand your student’s feelings and
thoughts. We should never think that in just one teaching or
discussion the student will get whatever it is that you want
them to learn because a child has different capabilities and
different styles of learning. Being a mother, I can say that
each child is really different, it takes a lot of effort
understanding them but as a teacher we should really put on
a shoes of a mother for us to really understand the uniqueness
of each of our future students.
