Lesson Plan

The lesson plan aims to teach students about the seven types of learning styles in second language acquisition (SLA). It will have the students 1) identify the seven learning styles in SLA, 2) perform demonstrations of each style, and 3) appreciate the importance of learning styles in SLA. The lesson will use a PowerPoint presentation, group activities like role plays of each style, and class discussions to help students understand and identify their own dominant learning styles. I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students would be able to:

a. identify the seven types of learning style in SLA .


b. perform the seven types of learning styles in SLA.
c. appreciate the importance of learning styles in SLA.

II. Subject Matter

a) Preliminary Activities:
1. Prayer, recitation of HCDC’s VMG, and greetings
2. Attendance and announcements
b.) Topic: Seven Learning Styles in Second Language Acquisition
 Vocabulary:
1.) Visual (spatial)
2.) Aural (auditory-musical)
3.) Verbal (linguistic)
4.) Physical (kinesthetic)
5.) Logical (mathematical)
6.)Social (interpersonal)
7.) Solitary (intrapersonal)

III. Procedure (4 A’s Method)

A. Activity
1. The class are divided in seven groups.
2. The dissemination of topics are picking rumbled learning styles..
3. The groups are going to perform a Tablue.
4. One member of the group are expected to explain their given topic,
in regards of learning styles in second language acquisition.

Strategy: Cooperative learning- where it encourage students of mixed


abilities to work together by promoting small group.

B. Analysis

1. While observing the different groups performance and


discussions, the students are tasked to answer the following
questions:
a) Are the group activities appropriate and fitting for the
objectives? Why or why not?
b) If you were the teacher, what kind of activity are you going to
apply in your students for them to understand the seven
learning styles of language learning.

Strategy: Interactive Discussion with whole class processing

2. After the students responses are gathered the teacher shall then
process and give individual task.
a) Using concept map, the students will assess their own
explanations and how this learning styles of SLA are unique
to each other.

C. Abstraction

1. The teacher are expected to give some overview of the topic and
briefly assess the work of different groups.
2. The teacher will ask the students on what they have learned from
the lesson and answer the following questions:
a) What are the seven learning styles? Is it difficult to identify
yourselves to the particular learning style?
b) What are the practical implications of this information for
people learning a new language?

Strategy: Whole Class Discussion Interactive Discussion

D. Application

1. The students are task to form with their previous groups wherein
they will create a slogan that connects to their topic. That shows
importance to learning a new language.
2. Each group will need one representative to explain the slogan.

Strategy: Think, Groupings, Create

IV. Assignment

1.) Individual work. The students are to create an essay on what is


dominant learning style for them when learning a language
and give a specific scenario that you apply it in real life.
