COLLEGE ALUMNI

Introduction
College alumni website project which allows old students and new students of a college to
communicate with each other. This allows students to know about each other and their
current activities. The students can ask about career, job vacancies, subject details with old
students. This project developed using ASP.NET and all the data stores in the SQL server.

Existing system
Many colleges maintain present and old students manually. Re collecting this data in the
manual system is very difficult. If student needs any data about old students they have to
approach college management. Overall collecting the information is very tedious task in this
system.

Proposed system
This project allows students to register through online.
The students can easily access old student’s data.
Students can directly communicate with old students regarding Job, or any enquiry.
And this project has many additional features.

Modules
Registration module​​: In the registration module old and new students can register to the
system by entering their profile details with roll number.

Login module​​: The registered students can login to the system by entering login id and
password. If the person forgets password they can recover the password in the forgot
password panel. The users can change the password in the change password page.

Staff module​​: The staff module is for college staff to monitor students activities.

Admin module​​: The administrator has full authority of the website. Only administrator can
add staff details.

Event module​​: In the events module the administrator can publish events. Students will
receive published events through online.

Alumni search module​​: In the search module students can search records.

Message module​​: The students can communicate with old students in the message module.
To create message compose message, Inbox has received messages and sent message can be
viewed in this module.

Report module​​: The report module which displays all activities of the student report.

Problem definition

Problem Statement​​: Each team submits a problem statement for the selected project. The
problem statement clearly defines the scope and expected content of the project. It addresses
novelty, customer needs, specifications, constraints, evaluation criteria, market, goals, and
any other specific relevant issue of the project.

Project Plan​​: Each team submits a work plan for the completion of the project. Identify
individual members responsible for activities related to group management, design partition,
and deliverables. Include a timeline with critical dates. A Gantt chart is a useful model.

Task Assignments​​: Each team assigns detailed responsibilities for each member as stated in
the Project Plan. Each team member details the specific tasks in supporting the project and
team. The individual task assignments are integrated into a single group plan (not just cut
and pasted together). Each person must understand their own responsibilities and the
responsibilities of the other team members.

It shows the flow of data from one process to another process to obtain the final
result. The overall activities of the system will be represented in a single flow diagram.

• System : Pentium IV 2.4 GHz.


• Hard Disk : 40 GB.
• Floppy Drive : 1.44 Mb.
• Monitor : 15 VGA Colour.
• Mouse : Logitech.
• Ram : 512 Mb.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

➢ Operating system : Windows XP/7.

CONCLUSION

Alumni detail for any college website is very important. Alumni detail has been setup
to increase interaction, knowledge sharing and networking among the alumni students. An
alumni detail focuses on bringing together alumni students of college. The primary goal of
this report is to connect the alumni students with the college and existing college students
with the help of alumni web portal where they can have communication with existing
students and college.
