1. User Login
URL for Academic Management System (AMS)

http://acadserver.admin.iisc.ac.in/course/

All the users should use their individual IISc (Active Directory) Email IDs and passwords to
login to the Academic Management System (AMS). This is a Single Sign-On (SSO) facility
and gets the User email Id authenticated online from the Active Directory of the Institute.

2. Course Registration Activities


2.1. Process Flow

Advisor
Courses are deemed
approved by Advisor,
unless rejected.

Instructor
Students
Register their courses Approve/reject courses

DCC

approved by DCC,
unless rejected.

2.2. Activities
2.2.1. Communication regarding Course Registration Schedule
Students will receive a formal communication from Academics regarding the
Schedule for course registration.

2.2.2. Register Courses:


1. Open the AMS portal (http://acadserver.admin.iisc.ac.in/course/)
2. Login to the portal with IISc Email ID and Password
3. From the home page, go to the menu and navigate to Registration -> Course

2.2.3. Course Registration for Research Programs (M-Tech Research, PhD, Int.PhD)

1. Select the department, in which you want to register the courses.


2. Select the courses from the list of courses displayed.
3. Choose any registration type among i) RTP, ii) Non RTP or iii) Audit.
4. Once the desired courses are selected, Click on Submit button.
5. The selected courses will be forwarded for further approvals from Advisor,
Instructor and DCC.
6. The student will receive a system generated Email confirmation with details of
courses registered for information and reference.

2.2.4. Change Registration Type


Students are allowed to change the Course registration type during the Course
Registration schedule.

1. Navigate to Registration -> Course
2. Go to Registered Course(s) grid.
3. From the list of registered courses, click on the Change link for the course that you wish
to change the registration type.
4. Choose the Course registration type from the drop-down list.

Change of registration type are allowed only during Course Registration and
course dropping schedule.
