INTRADUCTION

I-Rationale

Pigs are an adaptable and rapidly growing species that may be attractive for small and
beginning farmers seeking to incorporate livestock into their farm. This factsheet summarize
typical performance of the type of pigs most commonly raised in the Philippines although
these estimates are not universal, they are a starting point for developing plant to raise pigs.
Estimate of feed use for a sow and litter of pigs to market as well as a glossary of term and
abbreviations commonly used in pig production.

Objective

1. Provide pig reproductive and post weaning growth estimate suitable for initial planning

purposes.

2. Provide planning estimates of resources needed,

3. To have income and to produce high quality meat product.

II-Technical study

Pig raising is very high demand hare in our locality in las navas and also in the nearest

barangay. The meat of pig is a source of protein and easy to raising in at 3 months.

The said proposed project will be starter with 15 heads of pigs, purchased from UEP

nursery, Catubig N. Samar, they will be grown at 3 month or until it reach the average weight

of 50kg. or marketable age.

ROI (Return of investment)

This will be determined by using the following formula

Net Profit = Gross sale = production cost

= Pigs live weight 150kg market size at the age of 3 months.

= 15 heads x 150kg x 240kl.live weight

= 540,000

Net profit = 540,000

443,000/cycle

VII-Socio – economic aspects

The aimed of this project is to earned profit and to sustain the supply of meat and it by

product in the market.
