Thapar University, Patiala: - Attempt All Questions in Given Sequence Only. - Assume Missing Data, If Any, Suitably

The document is an exam paper for a course on Network Analysis and Synthesis. It contains 9 questions related to circuit analysis, network synthesis, and filter design. Students are asked to find branch currents, determine source impedances for maximum power transfer, obtain link voltages from a cut-set matrix, determine Y-parameters for a network containing dependent sources, design composite low-pass and band-stop filters, determine Cauer forms from a driving point impedance function, calculate effective inductances of coupled coils, design low-pass T-networks and find their attenuation characteristics, and determine the range of coefficients for a Hurwitz polynomial.

• Attempt all questions in given sequence only.
• Assume missing data, if any, suitably.

1.
For the network shown in Figure-1, draw the oriented graph. Write the tie-set
[12]
schedule and hence obtain the equilibrium equation on loop basis. Calculate the
values of branch currents.

tree branch voltage. The tree branches are C, Vs and RI. [10]

4.
The given network shown in Figure-3 contains both a dependent current source [12]
and a dependent voltage source. For the given element values, determine the Y
parameters.

5. Design a composite low pass filter using T-network which is to be terminated in [10]
400 fl resistance. It must have a cut-off frequency of 0.8 kHz, with very high
attenuation at 0.865 kHz, 1 kHz and at co Hz.
