What is AdSense?

▪ Google AdSense is a program run by Google that allows publishers in the Google Network of
content sites to serve automatic text, image, video, or interactive media advertisements, that are
targeted to site content and audience. These advertisements are administered, sorted, and
maintained by Google. They can generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis.

AdSense vs AdWords

▪ The difference between AdWords and AdSense is that AdWords allows you to advertise on the Google
search results pages (and the network of partners) while AdSense is the platform to use as a publisher
to display Google Ads on your website.
▪ Both platforms are developed and owned by Google and they have positively contributed to Google’s
success.

▪ Both AdSense and AdWords are great tools you can use to make money and also promote your products
and services online. AdSense is the best option to monetize your content rich website and AdWords is
one of the most efficient ways to advertise your businesses to a well defined targeted audience.

Launching AdSense on your site

Go to
adsense.google.com
and sign-up with
your Google Account

▪ Once you apply for AdSense, Google will review your application (review the website address that
is given in the application) and accept/reject the same based on their findings.
▪ You will receive email confirmation from Google on your registered email ID to inform the status
of your AdSense Account along with suggested improvement if required.
