Correccion Resistencia de Aislamiento1

This document provides conversion factors and formulas for correcting insulation resistance measurements from different test temperatures to a standard temperature of 20°C. Table 100.14.1 lists multipliers for correcting measurements on apparatus containing immersed oil insulation or solid insulation from temperatures ranging from -10°C to 105°C. The formula shown corrects a measured resistance (Ra) at a test temperature to the equivalent resistance (Rc) at 20°C by multiplying Ra by the applicable conversion factor (K). An example calculation demonstrates using the table and formula to correct a measurement taken at 104°F on oil-immersed insulation.

Derived from Stitch in Time…The Complete Guide to Electrical Insulation Testing, Megger.
Formula: Example: Resistance test on oil-immersion insulation at 104° F
Rc = Ra x K Ra = 2 megohms @ 104° F
Where: Rc is resistance corrected to 20° C K = 3.95
Ra is measured resistance at test Rc = Ra x K
temperature Rc = 2.0 x 3.95
K is applicable multiplier Rc = 7.90 megohms @ 20° C
