Objectives

At the end of the discussion the students will be able to differentiate opinion from truth.

K: Differentiate what is anthropocentric and ecocentric;

3. Recapitulation of the previous topic
“Before we proceed to our new lesson for
today, let us have first a recap of our past (Students are raising their hands)

“Now, let us have a short activity before we
proceed to our lesson. This activity is to test
your listening skills, which I will be playing
here the song by Asin entitled Masdan mo ang
Kapaligiran. I want you to group into three.
Your task in the group is to complete the lyrics
and choose one representative to sing the
song that you've written."

1. Introduction of the topic

2. Discussion of the topic

“Anthropocentrism, philosophical viewpoint


arguing that human beings are the central or
most significant entities in the world. This is a
basic belief embedded in many Western
religions and philosophies. Anthropocentrism
regards humans as separate from and superior
to nature and holds that human life has
intrinsic value while other entities (including
animals, plants, mineral resources, and so on)
are resources that may justifiably be exploited
for the benefit of humankind.”

that places intrinsic value on all living organism
and their natural environment, regardless of
their perceived usefulness or importance to
human beings."

D. Application
“Now let us test your listening skills based on
what we have discussed. I have here picture(s)
and I want you to identify which is
anthropocentism model and ecocentric model.
When the picture is an anthopocentrism
model you remain sitted, and you will stand
when it is an ecocentric model."

IV. Evaluation
"Discuss to your group, what human activities
do we have nowadys that causes damages or
beneficial to our human environment. Give atleast
five (5) examples of anthropocentric view and five
(5) examples of ecocentric perspectives and
explain how they affect our human environment
and how to prevent them? Write your examples or
answers in the activity sheet provided to you.
Lastly, please choose one representative to discuss
your output in the class."
