Week for High School Students Effective School Year (SY) 2013-2014

In line with the goal of the K to 12 Basic Education Program to produce graduates
who are ready for higher education, middle level skills development, employment
and entrepreneurship, the Department of Education (DepEd) in collaboration with
the Career Guidance Advocacy Program-Working Group (CGAP-WG), an inter-
agency group under the President’s Human Development and Poverty Reduction
Cluster (HDPRC) issues the enclosed Guidelines on the Conduct of Career Guidance
Week for High School Students Effective School Year (SY) 2013-2014, which shall be
celebrated every last week of July.

• Aims to immerse parents and students on the realities of the labor

DepEd’s Commitment to the CGAP Advocacy

• Intensify the Career Development Program though:
• Integration to the different programs and subjects;
• the Homeroom Guidance Curriculum from Kinder to Grade 12;
• establishing career advocacy and LMI corner in all public basic education institutions;
and
• capacity building of Registered Guidance Counselors and Career Advocates in
facilitating the career guidance program;
• Formulate a Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program from
Kinder to Grade 12;
• Establish network among all stakeholders for the career development of
learners; and
• Formulate and conduct evaluation measures to ensure the quality delivery
of the program.
