Lesson 4. Development of Classroom Assessment Tools for


Measuring Knowledge and Reasoning

1 Hour and 30 Minutes

 Assessment tools are very necessary for the teacher to evaluate


the performance of the learners.

 Non-objective tests require students to organize their thoughts


on a subject matter in coherent sentences in order to inform an
audience.
Key  A rubric is created to help teachers assess the output of the

subjected to item analysis and validation in order to ensure that
the final version of the test would be useful and functional.

Learning By the end of this session the learners will be able to:

Activity: “Ang Tanong”

Instructions:

1. The learners will be divided into 2 Groups.


2. Give the following instructions:
 Your group will share your output in the plenary.
 Your group is given 20 minutes for discussion and a maximum
Activity of three (3) minutes for the presentation.
(25 Minutes)  Your group is tasked to create three (3) sample questions in
topic.
The upcoming 2016 election
A. Non-objective type:
 Restricted essay
 Open essay
 Assign a group presenter.

Ask the following:


 What does your group feel when you are creating test

(15 minutes)

 Non-objective Test (Planning, Constructing – Restricted Essay,


Abstraction and Extended Essay; Developing rubric for essay test- setting
Criteria and Setting Performance Levels).

Instructions:
 Each group will reconstruct their test questions.

 Assign a student to consolidate the output of the group.

Application  Ask the students to share their responses to the following


(30 minutes) questions:
 What can you say about the development of the different
assessment tools?
 Now would you consider the roles of a teacher in assessing the
learners’ performance?

Concluding "We plan. We develop. We deliver. We assess and evaluate the results
Activity of the assessment. We revise, deliver the revised material, and assess
and evaluate again. ."
