Make a Triangle Collage Using Photoshop

Here is a tutorial on how to create a triangle collage using Photoshop. The first step is to create a
new document as a template so that this document can be used repeatedly, and then create guides to
help us to form a triangle, then, create a triangle shape using polygon tool. The last step is placing
your photos right on top the triangle layer then create a clipping mask. You can add a drop shadow
layer style if desired. Let's get started!

1. Create a New Document.


Choose File> New to create a new document. I'll create document with 3000x2000 pixels size and
300pixels / inch resolution.

2. Create Guides.
Create a horizontal and a vertical guides. Choose View> New Guide. If you didn't see the guides
line, then choose View> Show> Guides.
Create vertical guides 50%.

Create horizontal guides 50%.

3. Choose Polygon Tool.


Click the Polygon tool icon on the toolbar. At the option bar select Shape, choose Fill color, stroke
size and filled sides with 3. You can use other shapes for your collage likes the Rectangle Tool, the
Rounded Rectangle Tool, the Ellipse Tool and the Custom Shape Tool.

4. Create a Triangle Shape.


With the help of guides line, please click and then drag to create a triangle. With every triangle we
created in the document, Photoshop will automatically create a layer for that triangle shape. You can
duplicate triangle layer by choosing Layer> Duplicate Layer, then adjust its size using command
Edit> Free Transform Path. Drag using your mouse to move its position on the document. After you
finish creating a triangle, you can remove guides by choosing View> Show> Guides.

5. Place your photo into document.


Begin placing your pictures into document to create your photo collage. Click one of the triangle
layer, then choose File> Place, select your photo and then click Place button. Adjust its size and
position by clicking and dragging mouse. I'm using images here 1852783, 1203101, 1236875 that I
downloaded from Pixabay.

6. Create Clipping Mask.
Choose Layer> Create Clipping Mask.

7. Put Another Photos.


Repeat steps 5 and 6 to place all of your photos into document.

Put all the photos.

8. Group All The Triangle Layer.


While pressing the Shift key, click on all the triangle layer then choose Layer> Group Layers.

9. Add Background Color.


Click Background layer. Choose Edit>Fill command, choose a color picture and then click OK
button.
