Philosophy of Human Person Notes

Philosophy is defined as the love of wisdom concerning fundamental problems in human existence, such as reality, ethics, aesthetics, knowledge, and politics. There are several branches of philosophy including logic, metaphysics, ethics, and epistemology. Aristotle discussed four causes that explain things: material, formal, efficient, and final. Existentialism emphasizes individual existence, freedom, and choice, rejecting the view that human beings should serve any higher purpose other than to live authentically. Phenomenology studies conscious experience and what appears to consciousness through direct experience and awareness.
