2 QUOTATIONS
Jacob 7: 1-2, 4, 6-7 - Sherem to jacob, leading people away from christ??

Omni 1: 20-22 - Abinidom- Jaredite findings, Coriatumr,

Words of Mormon 1: 3-4, 6-7 - Mormon,Had large plates and found small plates. Take plates for
a “wise purpose” the Lord worketh for me to do his will.

Mosiah 2: 17-18- King Ben When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, If i labor to serve
you as king.. etc

Mosiah 4: 19-21 - King Benjamin - Are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend on God?He
has poured out his spirit on you. Ask in faith and ye shall receive.

Mosiah 7: 13-15- Ammon finds king Limhi and explains they were looking for the people of
Zeniff, Limhi is happy and would rather be a slave to the Nephite than under control of the
Lamanites.

Mosiah 8: 12-13, 16-17- King Limhi askes if Ammon knows anyone who can translate the
Jaredite plates. Ammon says that he cant, but he knows that Mosiah can and that interpreting is
a gift from God, and nobody can look at the records unless they are commanded, and they are
seers. Being a seer is a gift of God and they can see the past, future, and all things to be
revealed and make hidden things come to light.

Mosiah 9: 1, 3 - Zeniff lead a group from Zarahemla to possess Lehi-Nephi, and was sent to
spy on lamanite forces. He says he was overzealous to possess the land and they were ill
prepared because they were slow to remember God.

Mosiah 9: 10, 12-13 - Zeniff made a deal with Laman, Lamanite king who used the people to
improve the land, and then sought to keep them under bondage, and wars break out between
the people of Zeniff, and the Lamanites. The lord protected them.

Mosiah 11: 1-2- Zeniff passes the kingdom along to Noah, who does not keep the
commandments. He walked after the desires of his heart, and had wives and concubines and
encouraged whoredoms in his kingdom.

Mosiah 12: 1-3 - Abinadi smneaks in to the land after being kicked out and prophesies to the
people, to repent or God will punish their iniquity. Prophesies include: smitten on cheek, brought
into bondage, driven by men, vultures of hte air and the dogs and wild beasts will eat their flesh.
King Noah will burn like agarment in a hot furnace.

Mosiah 15: 21-26- Abinadi preaches about the first and second resurrection. The first will
include all those who lived and died prior to Christ and his resurrection. All the prophets and
those who believed in them will rise and will dwell with God since the bands of death are now
broken. Little children are granted eternal life. The lord redeemeth none who rebeled against
them and die in sins, those who wilfully rebelled against god, and have known the
commandments but not kept them will not have part in the first resurrection.

Mosiah 17: 9-10 Abinadi is threatened to die if he doesnt take back what he says. He says he
wont recall the words and he let himself into the hands of Noah. He will suffer death for his
testimony and the innocent blood shed of his will stand as a testimony against him in teh last
day.

Mosiah 18: 8-10 - Alma runs away from Noah’s court and reaches the Waters of Mormons.
People gather to hear him preach. He invites them into the fold of God, asking them to bear one
anothers burdens, comfort those in need of comfort and stand as a witness of God at all times
and in all places. This is the baptismal covenant that those who wanted alma to baptize thme
would make, and they were blessed with the spirit as a result.

Mosiah 22: 6-7- Gideon announced to Limhi and the people his plan to sneak around and
drunken the Lamanite guards so that the people can escape by night, which ends up being
successful and the people are free.

Mosiah 29: 13, 18 - Mosiah plans to place a chief judge over the people because while believes
that a righteous king like Benjamin is the ideal way to rule, using King Noah as an example, he
doesnt want to bring about destruction like came to his people during his terrible rule. The
Judges are established and Alma is the first.

Alma 8: 20-21- Alma returns to Ammonihah and Amulek meets him and explains that an angel
came to visit him and told him of Alma and that he is a prophet and he is to take him in.

Alma 12: 24 - Alma is preaching to Zeezrom, Amulek taught to him of temporal death. We die
because this life is a probationary state, meant for us to prepare for eternal life.

Alma 15: 3, 10-12 - Zeezrom after his first enconter with the two got very sick near death, and
Alma and Amulek found him in Sidom where those cast out of Ammonihah were sent to. Alma
blesses him to be healed according to his faith, and Zeezrom immediate leaps up and walks,
and is baptized and begins to preach the gospel.

Alma 17: 27, 37 Ammon is watching the flocks of Lamoni when robbers came and scattered
them. Ammon smote their arms and didnt kill anyone but scared them so they woudl never
come back.

Alma 18: 2, 10 - The sevants returned to Lamoni and explained what happened, syaing they
believe that Ammon is the Great Spirit on earth to punish the people for their iniquities. Lamoni
asks where he is and finds out he is now preparing his chariots, and is astonished by Ammons
faithfulness and service.
Alma 19: 8, 10, 16-17 - After hearing the word Lamoni passes out, which scares those around
him. His wife the queen comes up to him, but rather than be scared, she knows he isnt dead,
just asleep, and she believes all this off no prior knowledge except what ammon taught. Ammon
says she is blessed because there is not so much faith like hers among the Nephites. Abish, a
Lamanite woman who was already converted also knew what had happened, and she went and
told the city about what had happened, seeing this as an opportunity for them to see the power
of God in action and be converted.

Alma 28: 14- A retrospective comment from Mormon regarding the lesson that is learned. The
Lamanites and Nephites fought in a massive battle, and there was slaughter on both sides.
Mormon uses the account of the people of Alma and Mosiah to show that the call to serve on
Gods side is great, because there is great reason to be sad in life, but in God we can find
eternal happiness.

2. Spiritually Born of God King Benjamin, Abinadi, and Alma II all mention various aspects
regarding changing from a carnal state, being born again, and becoming the children of Christ.
Write an essay examining each of these concepts in detail and how they relate to one another.
How does one change from a carnal and fallen state? What does it mean to be born again, born
of the Spirit, and born of God? How do we become the sons and daughters of Christ and how is
Christ our father? Be sure to connect these three concepts together and use each of the three
prophets’ specific experiences and teachings in your essay. Use scripture as appropriate to
illustrate your points.
