ELTON JOHN

Elton John was born on March 25, 1947 in England, London. His original name is
Reginal Kenneth Dwight, son of Stanley Dwight and Sheila Eileen. He is a British singer,
composer and pianist who was one of the most popular entertainers of the late 20th
century.

He was educated at the Royal Academy of Music thanks to a scholarship he got in

1958, at the age of 11 years. From then on, he began to frequent this establishment and
to receive classes on Saturdays and to perform in the choir. Over time he began to realize
that his was not classical music, so six years later, in 1964, he decided to leave this
institution to devote himself to rock music.

From the age of 15, he worked as a pianist in a hotel bar, interpreting the themes that
the clientele asks him, with whose tips he manages to buy an electric piano. He created
the band "Bluesology", among whose members were Long John Baldry and Elton Dean,
who, sometime later, would take part of their names to form his and to be called Elton John.

Elton John met who would be his partner in the composition of his songs, the poet
Bernie Taupin. Together they will be the creators of unforgettable hits like Skyline Pigeon,
Your Song, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Daniel, Crocodile Rock, Candle in the Wind, Sorry
to be the hardest word, Empty Garden, I'm still standing, I guess that's why they call it the
blues, Sad Songs, Nikita, A word in Spanish, I do not wanna go on with that like that,
Sacrifice, Club at the end of the street, The One, The Last Song, Believe and more.

Elton John took more than 50 of his songs to the charts worldwide, and sold more than
250 million albums and more than 150 million singles. In the year 2004 the Rolling Stone
magazine ranked him 49th on its list of the 100 best artists in history.

Winner of Grammys awards and an Oscar for the song "Can you feel the love tonight"
from the Disney movie "King Leon".

He recovered himself from his addiction to alcohol and drugs and offers himself
permanently for recitals for the benefit of humanitarian causes and above all in favor of the
fight against AIDS through the foundation that bears his name (EJAF).

As Sir, he was appointed member of the Order of the British Empire by Elizabeth II.

I consider him one of the most talented artists I've heard. One of my favorite songs is
"Rocketman", "Your Song" and "Tiny Dancer"
