Reflection On Lesson
Reflection On Lesson
Before writing the reflection part of this task, I would like to summarize my lesson plan.
First of all, the pupils were in Year 4 and their proficiency level was intermediate. The chosen
topic was Unit 3 which is ‘Yesterday and Today’ under the theme of ‘World of Knowledge’. For
the macro simulated teaching, I had presented a 30-minute lesson that focused on the listening
and speaking skills.
Firstly, I would like to emphasize the aspects that can be improvised throughout my
simulated teaching. I had successfully delivered the lesson where the pupils managed to
achieve the specific objectives being stated in the lesson plan. However, there are few things
that I may improve in order to make the lesson plan become more meaningful.
First and foremost, I have forgotten to introduce new vocabularies to pupils. As a result,
the pupils keep asking me the meaning of those difficult words. Thus I should at least check on
my teaching preparation more than one time. Another aspect that can be improvised is that my
teaching aids were too small in size. Thus, I should make it bigger to make sure those pupils
who sit at the behind of the class will manage to see it. Also, it has not achieved a good quality
teaching aids as I just paste it with a manila card to make sure it would not tear up easily. Not
only that, I can use audio recording at the reading part instead of using my own voice. By doing
this, the student will be able to practice their listening skills as they need to listen attentively in
order to answer the questions. Another aspect is that I should demonstrate the activities before
letting the pupils do it on their own. This is so important to make sure that they fully understand
the instructions given. Last but not least, I should improve my pronunciation to be able to deliver
my lesson effectively.
