1.0 OBJECTIVE

The objective of this method statement is to carry out drainage works at PROPOSED
CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF EARTHWORKS AND OTHER RELATED
WORKS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PHASE 2 (R11), AT BANDAR BUKIT RAJA 2,
MUKIM KAPAR, DISTRICT OF KLANG, SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN FOR MESSR.
SIME DARBY USJ DEVELOPMENT SDN. BHD.

2.0 SCOPE

The scope of this method statement applies for drainage works at Bukit Raja R11 project.

4.0 DEFINITION

Drainage - comprise of main drains, culvert crossing, sump, precast compressed concrete
slab, and gross pollutant trap

Handling : Dump trucks / Lorries

9.0 PREPARATORY WORKS

9.1 Set out all lines and points for survey, as per the drainage work survey operation.

9.2 Carry out clearing, grubbing and topsoil stripping of the designated area.

9.3 Before excavation, conduct a joint survey of the original Ground level (OGL) of the
drainage alignment.

9.4 Set out reference lines and invert elevation levels for cut and fill.

9.5 Carry out receiving inspection on pre-cast drains delivered to site as per Inspection &
Test Plan and Delivery Order.

10.0 WORK METHODOLOGY

10.1 Pre cast U-Drain / L-Shape Drain / Twin Box Culvert

10.1.1 Conduct survey to confirm the invert level of the main drain

10.1.2 Excavate trench to achieve smooth, firm surface and allowance, to ensure that a
minimum working space of 300mm is available on either side.

10.1.3 Planking, strutting and reinforced concrete piling should be done, and is necessary where
the ground is soft and sandy as per shown in construction drawing.

10.1.4 Request inspection and approval from Consultant representative prior to pouring of lean
concrete.

10.1.5 Cast lean concrete and blinding for concrete bedding, baffle drain, and sumps.

10.1.6 Fix steel reinforcements as per procedure and install durable steel or wooden form works
for cast in situ slab concrete grade 30.

10.1.7 Request for inspection and approval prior to casting of concrete.

10.1.8 Pour concrete using concrete vibrators transit mixes and excavator with concrete buckets.

10.1.9 Install Precast Drains using mobile cranes lay drains as per the given Invert levels
commencing from downstream end.

10.1.10 Lifting holes are to be fix with 225mm X 225mm filler material with geotextile type MXC50
on both sides.

10.1.11 Request approval to backfill approved suitable material to the trench excavation. Compact
approved suitable material on either sides of drain for its entire length.

10.1.12 Follow the same procedure as that of Main Drainage to install Twin Box Culvert

10.1.13 Install hot dipped galvanized iron handrailing along the main drain as shown in the
construction drawing

10.1.14 Carry out joint inspection with the SO’s Representative completed and obtain acceptance.
Use Drainage Works Inspection Checklist during inspection.

10.2 Cast In Situ Reinforced Concrete Sump

10.2.1 Conduct survey to confirm the invert level of the sump.

10.2.2 Excavate trench to achieve smooth, firm surface and allowance, to ensure that a minimum
working space of 300mm is available on either side.

10.2.3 Planking, strutting and reinforced concrete piling should be done, and is necessary where
the ground is soft and sandy as per shown in construction drawing.

10.2.4 Request inspection and approval from Consultant representative prior to pouring of lean
concrete.

10.2.5 Cast lean concrete and blinding for concrete bedding.

10.2.6 Fix steel reinforcements as per procedure and install durable steel or wooden form works
for cast in situ slab concrete grade 30.

10.2.7 Request for inspection and approval prior to casting of concrete.

10.2.8 Pour concrete using concrete vibrators transit mixes and excavator with concrete buckets.

10.2.9 Fix steel reinforcements as per procedure and install durable steel or wooden form works
for cast in situ sump concrete grade 30

10.2.10 Request for inspection and approval prior to casting of concrete

10.2.11 Cast lean concrete and blinding for concrete sump.

10.2.12 Install Pre cast compressed concrete slab for every sump opening as per shown in the
construction drawing.

10.3 Precast Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT)

10.3.1 Conduct survey to confirm the invert level of the sump.

10.2.2 Excavate trench to achieve smooth, firm surface and allowance, to ensure that a minimum
working space of 300mm is available on either side.

10.3.3 Planking, strutting and reinforced concrete piling should be done, and is necessary where
the ground is soft and sandy as per shown in construction drawing.

10.3.4 Request inspection and approval from Consultant representative prior to pouring of lean
concrete.

10.3.5 Cast lean concrete and blinding for concrete bedding.

10.3.6 Fix steel reinforcements as per procedure and install durable steel or wooden form works
for cast in situ slab concrete grade 30.

10.3.7 Request for inspection and approval prior to casting of concrete for slab.

10.3.8 Pour concrete using concrete vibrators transit mixes and excavator with concrete buckets.

10.3.9 Install Precast Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) using mobile cranes as per the given Invert
levels commencing from downstream end.
