TINUKIB 2019: SILONGANAN OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES MINDANAO


ARCHITECTURE STUDENT COUNCIL

The University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao Architecture Student Council


will conduct the Tinukib 2019: Silonganan from September 11 to 12, 2019 at the Abreeza
Mall, Davao City.

Tinukib 2019 will offer a lecture series on basic design principles, workshops on
model-making techniques, and a model-making competition.

The activity aims to:

1. create a venue for stimulating the creativity and critical thinking of the
participants,
2. encourage them into the field of architecture,
3. stimulate their critical problem-solving abilities in finding solutions to
current global issues and problems,
4. provide an avenue for students and organizers to develop the capacity to
execute and communicate creative ideas through three-dimensional
models,
5. foster prosperous connections between UP Mindanao and different
learning institutions and establishments in Mindanao, and
6. increase positive exposure for the BS Architecture program of the
Department of Architecture of UP Mindanao.

Target participants are junior and senior high school students. Interested

Participation of public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-


of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order (DO) No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting
Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
