"We are working on integrating vertex tax software with oracle.

1) Is there any document that i have to follow to do the integration? BR 100 or


anything.

2) Does it involve coding? Already my company is using a tax software, so is it


just the integration that is needed?

3) Please give me a clear picture as what are involved and how to do the
integration."

unless Oracle states Vertex tax software could be integrated seamlessly with oracle
applications, your choice would be depending upon public APIs provided by oracle for
integration, which will involve moderate level of coding/testing prior you implement the
integration.

This is to re-arrange the data from Vertex repositories to Oracle repositories as Oracle
will be expecting the data arranged in a particular order.

Integration to vertex should not involve any technical work on your (client) side.

Download the tax le from Vertex website.

Upload the le to your instance. (Place the le in required directory)

Submit import copncurrent program, which in turn treigger 10 programs and process
to load data in ebusiness tax ZX tables.

On support.oracle.com website check with the following R12 + Vertex integration.. For
sure u will get the required information.

Hi,

Is your Oracle EBS 11i or R12?

If you plan to integrate any Third Party Software like Vertex with Oracle,the Tax
Software Vendor would take of the Implementation.

If you go to the Oracle Documentation website, otn.oracle.com and look for


applications documentation, and search under 12.1.1 documentation for EBTax, you
will nd a user guide speci cally for the use of EBTax with Vertex or Taxware. The user
guide is oriented towards Vertex Q series, which is out of date (Vertex is now on O
Series), but it will give you a basic idea of what is required in order to use Vertex with
EBTax. There is some very basic setup required in EBTax (creating a tax regime and
three taxes, STATE, COUNTY and CITY) but then most of the rest of the setup is
running scripts from Vertex to load tax rates, etc. into the EBTax tables.

I believe Vertex also has documentation on their website on how to con gure EBTax to
work with Vertex.

Vertex Integration with Oracle is supported by Oracle and if you run into issues you
may be able to contact Oracle support. Normally speaking, you should run into issues,
as I recently went through an Vertex upgrade with Oracle 11i version and found no
issues. Another source for information is Vertex support which is one of the bext in
the industry.

Hi,

For Vertex to Ebtax Integration a few Client Extension has to be done on the Vertex
side. Vertex Consulting always takes care of the Ebtax Con guration.
