Summer 2019 NYSTCE Preparation Workshops


Workshops are open to Brooklyn LIU School of Education majors. To enroll, email [email protected] by
deadline dates listed below with the following information: full name, EMPLID (identification) number, major
in School of Education, and workshop/s you want to attend. Enrollment confirmation in each workshop will be
emailed to LIU School of Education majors after its registration deadline date. Please check workshop
descriptions (included) to determine which workshops to register for.

EAS (Educating All Students) Workshop


Saturday, June 8th 11am-6pm
Deadline to Register is 5pm Tuesday, June 4th

If you are planning to begin preparing for any of these exams during Summer 2019, make sure
to enroll for the workshops by the deadline dates. The next set of workshops will be held
during Fall 2019.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:
EAS Workshop:
This workshop addresses knowledge and strategies that can be used to respond to the
learning needs of the three populations of students focused on in the Educating All
Students (EAS) exam: diverse student populations, English Language Learners, and
students with disabilities. Multiple-choice questions will be reviewed and a format
that test takers can use to write the constructed response tasks will be provided.

Competency 0001 Part One (Literacy and English Language Arts) Multiple-Choice
Workshop:
This workshop presents Part One Competency 0001 information dealing with
language and literacy development (sub-competency 1.1) in the Multi-Subject CST.
Pertinent concepts will be explained and practice multiple-choice questions will be
provided. Applicable to Early Childhood, Childhood, Middle Childhood, and Secondary
versions of the Multi-Subject CST.

Early Childhood and Childhood MULTI-SUBJECT CST Literacy and Language Arts
(Part One) Constructed Response Assignment Workshop:
This workshop provides information to help analyze the exhibits test takers will have
to evaluate to write the constructed response for Part One (Literacy and English
Language Arts) of the Teachers of Childhood and Teachers of Early Childhood Multi-
Subject CSTs. A format that test takers can use to write the constructed response is
discussed. Pertinent Competency 0002 & 0003 multiple-choice questions will be
provided. Applicable to Early Childhood and Childhood versions of the Multi-Subject
CST only.

Middle Childhood and Secondary Teachers MULTI-SUBJECT CST Literacy and


Language Arts (Part One) Constructed Response Assignment Workshop:
This workshop provides information to help analyze the exhibits test takers will have
to evaluate to write the constructed response for Part One (Literacy and English
Language Arts) of the Middle Childhood and Secondary Teachers Multi-Subject
CSTs. A format that test takers can use to write the constructed response is
discussed. Pertinent Competency 0002 & 0003 multiple-choice questions will be
provided. Applicable to Middle Childhood and Secondary Teachers versions of the
Multi-Subject CST only.
