Project Wolf
A Reportage and an Investigation
This is not a book about wolves. Neither is it a natural science tle. It’s
a narra ve about mankind; human obsession, greed and ambi on. And
the underlying mechanisms that led to the en rely avoidable a ack in
which a woman was mauled and killed by wolves, in modern day Swe-
den.
One June morning in 2012, a young woman was found dead inside the
wolf enclosure at Kolmården Wildlife Park in southern Sweden. As part
of her rou ne, the 30-year-old licensed wolf guide had entered the pen
alone, when the wolves suddenly a acked and killed her. She then lay,
undiscovered, among the wolves for several hours before the alarm
was raised. The ques on of what really happened inside the enclosure
on the fateful day has gone unanswered.
So, too, has the mystery of how the near-ex nct Swedish wolf could
suddenly make a come-back in large numbers in the Swedish forests in
the mid-1980s. PROJECT WOLF is also a book about individuals who
wanted to do good; who wanted to save the world, but got side-

Dr. B.
Based on a true story
DR. B. is a work of fiction based on a larger‐than‐life true
story of World War II drama, played out in the world of
book publishing, émigrés, spies, and diplomats in 1940s
Stockholm, drawing comparison to Lara Prescott’s We Were
Never Here.
The true story behind the novel DR. B. is completely unique. It all starts
with a mysterious cardboard box found in an a c by Daniel Birnbaum:
within the box lies a whole life‐story filled with unexpected World War
drama and intrigue in the world of book publishing and international es‐
pionage, hitherto unknown to the surviving Birnbaum family. This ex‐
traordinary story is the basis for Daniel Birnbaum’s debut novel, and the
starting point for this literary gem.
In DR. B. you will meet a host of legendary characters, all very real,
among them the exiled German publisher Go ried Bermann Fischer,
owner of the world‐renowned S. Fischer Verlag. You will also meet Daniel
Birnbaum’s grandfather, Immanuel Birnbaum, who arrives in Stockholm
as a refugee to start work at the Bermann Fischer’s exiled publishing
house, using the pen‐name Dr. B. While there, he aids British spies to
spread propaganda in Germany. But in a letter written in invisible ink ‐

Breathe
A Nordic approach to breathing and
finding the balance within
A revolutionary, new practical approach to health and
wellbeing combining ancient yogic wisdom and cutting‐
edge neurological research in this new book by Swedish
expert and yoga master, Ulrica Norberg.
The breath: our most vital bodily function is so often overlooked and
neglected. In our hectic modern lives, our breathing has become rag-
ged, shallow and fast, and has been linked to a host of ailments and
deficiencies and impaired cognitive function. Using findings from the
latest, cutting-edge research on the brain to demonstrate how the
chemical balance in the body is shaped by the breath, leading yoga
master Ulrica Norberg travels back in time to the ancient yogic precept
of prana (Sanskrit for breathing), describing the four stages of the
breath and how these impact the mind and body.
Tapping into medical research and the demands of the work-life bal-
ance, Norberg brings us a revolutionary and practical approach to fully
activating and utilising the breath as a tool to improving all aspects of
our health and wellbeing in our busy, modern lifestyles. BREATHE is a
practical and highly accessible book underpinned by scientific research
and decades-long experience for anyone and everyone.
Live your best life by discovering the transformative power of the
breath on your wellbeing by one of Sweden’s leading intersectional
experts on yoga and meditation and neurological research.

Marcus Wallén
‘Polish “Gold Train” Hunters Start Searching for Nazi Underground Fac-
tory’, claims the 2016 newspaper headline, quo ng Marcus Wallén.
What is it about the lure of Nazi gold that keeps us in its thrall more
than seventy years a er the end of World War II? Many books have
been published on the subject, but none from the northern European
angle Marcus Wallén takes in his NAZI GOLD AND THE FIELD MAR-
SHAL’S SECRET, and none with the latest developments in the hunt for
the missing gold.
Where did it all begin? Between 1935-45, the Nazis systema cally
robbed the Jewish popula on of Germany and the occupied territories
of their gold, art and cash. Once the bombing of Germany started, they
felt the need to move their ill-go en gains, the German Federal reserve
and the museums' invaluable art into salt mines in the German regions
of Thüringia and Merkers. A er the war, much of the stolen loot re-
mained unaccounted for. Rumour has it that the Nazis hid it; some say,
stashed away on freight trains in tunnels leading to long-forgo en
mines in the former German territory of Silesia, now in modern-day
Poland. Clues also point to secre ve Swiss bank accounts, caches in the
German Alps, and in forgo en le ers between the son of a prominent

The Tyynelä family has grown up in the shadows of the glassworks.
Jussi, the eldest of the three siblings, is moved from pillar to post
around different menial jobs at the factory as others work their way up
in the ranks. But he sees the world around him differently, its detail
and sharpness more acutely than those around him.
Jussi’s sisters are consumed by their own lives and worries. Helmi
works at the factory and is filled with nostalgia for the past. Irascible
Raili remembers her former life in Helsinki, living in the belief that to
get ahead in life, one must simply set one’s mind to it. But the war has
changed everything.
With his unmistakable style and lyrical prose, Kinnunen portrays the
microcosm of the glassworks, the des nies of its people and the shape
of their emo ons and rela onships with one another in the a ermath
of the war. A beau fully‐drawn portrayal of forgo en women and

Arto Paasilinna
Modern Classics from Finland
The hare, the bear, and the solitary hero...
Arto Paasilinna’s earthy depic ons of the endless escapades of Finns
and their irrepressible a tude towards life have claimed a permanent
place in the na onal canon. His wry language and exuberant op mism
have garnered praise and recogni on worldwide.
In Europe, Paasilinna is considered a prominent eco‐philosopher, who‐
se works are simultaneously meless yet mely; their themes, dark
humour and delving into the heart of humanity con nue to touch new
readers around the world.
Paasilinna is a natural storyteller and blue‐blooded humourist, who
imbues his picaresque novels with a bi ng take on contemporary life
and sa re. At the core of his wild adventures, rife with surprising turns
of events, is a philosophical view of people as prisoners of modern mo‐
res and conven ons.
Almost all of Paasilinna’s novels are founded on a wildly comical no‐
on, implemented throughout his works without fear of consequences.
One of his main themes is freedom – or the illusion thereof. His protag‐
onists have li le considera on for social standing, regula ons or socie‐
tal demands.
Paasilinna’s protagonists pig‐headedly fight conven on, mediocrity and
the other scourges of modern life. They are driven by a burning desire
to return to nature, where human existence would prove simpler. Paa‐
silinna finds material for his humour from the most unlikely of subjects,
such as suicide and unemployment, but always handles them with
