OVERVIEW

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry was


established in the year 1970. Currently there are 11
faculty members in the department. The department
offers Masters in Pharmaceutical chemistry and Masters
in Pharmaceutical Analysis. The research areas of the
department are development of new chemical entities for
the treatment of cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis,
inflammation and Alzheimer’s. The department is
successful in getting financial support from various
funding agencies like DBT, DST, AICTE, VGST and
ICMR. Faculty members have collaboration with
reputed national and international institutes including
industries like Lupin Pharma and DRILS.
