Xerox Color 550/560 Software Download
Tool & Engine Software Version 1.0.2.

NOTE: This CD provides the software download tool


and launch-level software for the Xerox Color 550/560
product.

Additional Information
The PWS Tools were developed for all Xerox support PWS
platforms with Win XP using GSN Release 9.2 or higher.

Xerox PWS Framework 4.6.7 does NOT support Windows


2000 and Windows Vista operating systems.

NOTE: Sometimes the tool will not open the first time
after it is installed. Close the tool and reopen.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Perform the following steps to install the Xerox Color
550_560 Software Download Tool:
WARNING: Disconnect any network connection prior to
this installation and exit Bus Station.
NOTE: Some of the transitions in the install can be
slow, do not reselect options.

1. Insert the Xerox Color 550_560 PWS & System


Software Download Tool CD in the PWS CD-ROM drive.
If the “What do you want Windows to do?” message
window appears, select Cancel.
2. From the Start menu, select Run. Browse to the CD-
ROM drive.
3. Double-click to select XC550_560 PWS Setup.exe.
Select OK in the Run dialog box.
4. If Windows Installer 3.1 v2 is not installed, a message
comes up asking if you would like to install it now.
Select Yes. A System Reboot Required message
comes up asking to restart your computer now.
Select Finish. PC will reboot. Exit Bus Station and
the installer will continue. If this message does not
come up, go to step 5.
5. If Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is not installed, a
message comes up asking if you would like to install
it now. Select Yes. If this message does not come up
go to step 7.
6. Various .NET Framework pop-up messages come up.
Note: If a Connection to the Internet dialog box
comes up, select Cancel. A System Reboot Required
message comes up asking to restart your computer
now. Select Finish. PC will reboot. Exit Bus Station
and the installer will continue.
7. Read license agreement. Select “I accept the
terms of the license agreement” and select Next.
8. As required, select C:\ Xerox \ PWS Diagnostic
Tool \ XC550_560 as the install directory if multiple
drives are configured.
9. A message will come up asking if you want to install
the Engine SW files onto your hard drive. Select Yes
to install the files, No to skip. If you choose not to
install the files on your hard drive, you will need to
have the CD to download software.
10. If a Software Installation message about
Windows Logo testing appears, select Continue
Anyway.
11. Select Finish at the InstallShield Wizard
Complete screen.
12. Close all applications. Restart the PWS to
ensure all files are registered properly.

NOTE: The product installed on the PWS (i.e. Your


Products / Case Management) is XC550-560.

UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Disconnect any network connection prior to
uninstalling this tool and exit Bus Station.

A. To uninstall the Xerox Color 550_560 Software


Download Tool and all its components, select
Start> Settings> Control Panel> Add/Remove
Programs> “Xerox XC550_560 NVM Access/SW
Download Tool”
B. Select the Remove or Change/Remove button, and
then click Yes to completely remove the selected
application and all its features.
C. Select No (or Yes) to the question, “Would you like
to delete all saved Machine Data and NVM Access
Files”. This action will affect all machine files you
previously saved when exiting service calls.
D. Select Finish at the Uninstall Complete screen.
E. Reboot PC to ensure all files are unregistered
properly.
