15MC405 – CONTROL SYSTEMS

ASSIGNMENT – 1

1. Simplify the block diagram shown in Figure. Then, obtain the closed-loop transfer
function C(s)lR(s).

2. Figure shows a schematic diagram of an automobile suspension system. As the car moves
along the road, the vertical displacements at the tires act as the motion excitation to the
auto- mobile suspension system. The motion of this system consists of a translational
motion of the center of mass. Find the mathematical modeling of the complete system.

3. Obtain the transfer functions X1(s)/U(s) and X2(s)/U(s) of the mechanical system shown
in Figure.
4. Obtain the transfer function Y(s)/X(s) of the system shown in Figure.

5. Find the transfer function V0(s)/Vi(s) for the given electrical system.
6. Find the transfer function V0(s)/Vi(s) for the given electrical system.

7. Write the differential equation governing the mechanical rotational system and find transfer
function and assume angular displacement.
