TLD PDF

Proper use of thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) is important for monitoring radiation exposure in diagnostic radiology. TLD badges should be worn below any lead aprons to accurately measure dose. TLD cards need to be changed every monitoring period, typically quarterly, and stored in radiation-free areas when not in use to avoid accidental exposure. Monitoring radiation exposure helps ensure dose limits set by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board are followed for worker safety.
