G50 and G55 Manual Transmissions: Description

The new Hilux has adopted the G50 and G55 manual transmissions. The G50 transmission is used with the 2KD-FTV 2WD engine, while the G55 transmission is used with the 1TR-FE 2WD engine. Both transmissions feature a lever type synchromesh mechanism for the 5th and reverse gears to enhance ease of operation. G50 AND G55 MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS

 DESCRIPTION

 The new Hilux has been adopted the G50 and G55 manual transmissions. The application for these
manual transmissions are as followings:

2KD-FTV 2WD G50
1TR-FE 2WD G55

 A lever type synchromesh mechanism has been adopted for the 5th and Reverse gears of these manual
transmissions to enhance the ease of operation. The construction and operation of this mechanism are the
same as the lever type synchromesh mechanism that has been adopted in the R150 series manual
transmissions. For details, refer to R150, R150F, R151, and R151F Manual Transmissions on page CH-6.
