Weekly Blog 4

This weekly journal entry from Week Four discusses the student's planning process for their film production major project. They learned how to execute their production plan and structure through planning activities. While no major issues were encountered, the student's planning has evolved as interviews were rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts. To ensure a high quality shooting script, the student regularly updates and details it to fully visualize the on-screen content. As family members make up the cast and crew, availability has not been a challenge as schedules can flexibly change with notice. The student feels on track for the week with completion of weekly blogs and filmed interviews remaining.

PLANNING

What did you learn from your planning From my planning this week I learnt how I’m going to execute
this week? my whole production and the filming. From my planning I also
found out what my production is going to look like and make
any changes I want to make it better

What issues did you encounter and Luckily, I didn’t encounter too many issues this week. I just
how did you overcome them? planned everything roughly and now im going to try and get
my interviews secured and think about where im going to film
b-roll.

How has your planning My planning has changed quite a bit since I started because I
developed/changed during the tried to film the interviews on the same day but I couldn’t
planning stage? because 1 of my family members had work and we were busy
a lot of the time but to overcome this I planned to film on
different days to make it easier.

How have you ensured your To ensure my shooting script is of high standard I regularly
script/shooting script is of a high changed it so it’s up to date and showed everything on screen
detailed standard? in detail

How well have you managed and For me it was quite easy to get all my cast and interviewee’s to
organised your cast and crew to be in be available because they’re my family members and I see
available when you need them? them everyday so even if one was busy I always knew as soon
as possible which helped me then to quickly change plans if I
needed to.

Are you on track for the week? If not, I would say I’m on track for this week I just need to complete
how far behind are you? weekly blogs and start filming all the interviews.

What work do you need to complete Outside of lessons I need to complete weekly blogs and also
outside of lessons to stay on track? finish up my research
