( Tools and Materials in Sewing )

I – Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:


1. Identify the proper usage of the different tools and materials in dressmaking.
2. Demonstrate on how to use the sewing tools and materials in dressmaking.
3. Show appreciation of the topic through participation in group activities.

II – Subject Matter:

Topic: Sewing Tools and Materials


Reference: K-12 Basic Education, Curriculum Technology and Livelihood Education
Learning Module (Dressmaking).
Materials: PPT, Pictures, Sewing Tools and materials
Values Focus: Participative Performance, Collaboration, competency, accuracy

III - Procedure
a. Class routine
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Strengthening the sense of camaraderie
b. Review of the lesson
 Calling student to recall the past lesson about the history of dressmaking.
c. Motivation / lesson development
 Group Activity:
Puzzle making.
 Ask students observation about the pictures in the puzzle. Call one student
per group to answer.
d. Application
1. Group Activity:
Divide the class into four groups. Each group will categorize the tools in
sewing according to use.
a.) Measuring Tools
b.) Cutting Tools
c.) Marking tools
e.) Sewing Tools and Materials

10 9 - 6 pcs. of pictures of tools were properly identified.

8 5 -4 pcs. of pictures of the tools were properly identified.

3. Using PPT, teacher will discuss the different tools in Sewing. Call student to
about his/her idea about the tool.
4. Teacher will elaborate student’s ideas for better understanding.
5. Group Activity
Directions: The class will be divided into four ( 4 ) groups. Each group will
present their activity. They will be asked to explain each tool and material
given to them and demonstrate its proper usage.

Group 1: Demonstrate and explain the uses of measuring tools in


dressmaking.
Group 2: Demonstrate and explain the uses of cutting tools in dressmaking.
Group 3: Demonstrate and explain the uses of marking tools and materials
in dressmaking.
Group 4: Demonstrate and explain the uses of sewing and pinning tools and
and materials in dressmaking.
