Course Syllabus in
Education 602 - Inferential Statistics
Second Semester 2018-2019
Learning Competencies
Skills
1. Can decide when to use parametric or non – parametric tests, given a
research situation or design.
2. Can state statistically testable hypotheses with reference to a design.
3. Can use Microsoft Excel and the PHStat software to compute statistical
measures and values.
4. Can analyze computer generated statistical results.
Knowledge
1. Identify different statistics and their uses, advantages and
disadvantages, and requirements as to the type of data, samples and
number of groups or variables.
2. Choose an appropriate test for a given research design.
3. Differentiate the different tests from one another in terms of
assumptions, rationale and method.
