I thought that the class led discussion experience was really fun and taught me a lot of
new things. It was also pretty interesting to be on the other side of the classroom. Everyone in
our group was very respectful and determined, which was the best thing you could hope for. The
biggest struggle that our group had was probably attempting to make the awkward silences less
awkward and figuring out what to say when you don’t receive any feedback. We did not fail at
this, but it was definitely the hardest and most awkward part to get over. I would say that the
thing we did best was our communication through the entire project. We all met at the times we
said we would, and we all supported each other’s ideas. When leading the discussion, we also
communicated our ideas well to the class and even one another’s. If I were to lead a discussion
again, I would probably incorporate more interactive activities to encourage participation. For
example, going over to groups and asking for their input while maybe giving them some of my
ideas to widen their thinking horizons. Communication skills are very important to have in life.
Every single job will require you to use some form of the skill. This project was definitely
helpful in developing a more comfortable self when speaking in front of a group of people. In
many courses, we also have to communicate. We have to write papers or give presentations or
take short answer tests; communication is very important in these specific areas. We
communicate with people every single day. The reason we have such amazing relationships with
