Presents! Announces The Choir Of Clare College, Cambridge For One-Time Performance

Northern Utahans Are Presented With The Opportunity To Enjoy Lenten Sequence By World-Renowned
Choir

SALT LAKE CITY-February 19, 2019- Weber State University (WSU) Telitha E. Lindquist College of
Arts & Humanities (https://bit.ly/2CTvrGG) welcomes The Choir of Clare College Cambridge for
anticipated performance (https://bit.ly/2FJ5EBy). The concert will be a part of WSU’s Browning
Presents! which features world-renowned performers, artists and speakers to the stage, campus and the
greater Ogden community. This concert will to bring a Lenten sequence by one of the lead university
choral groups in the world (https://bit.ly/2CSCOxV). The concert will be held March 25, 2019 at 7 p.m.
The performance will focus on the church’s current liturgical season, The Choir of Clare College,
Cambridge presents music that spans five centuries and explores the works of composers from Italy,
Spain and Britain.

“We are honored to bring our Lenten sequence to Utah,” said Graham Ross, director of The Choir of
Clare College, Cambridge. “The music pieces that will be presented have captivated audiences on a
global scale,” said Ross.

The program will include the final three movements of the six-voice 1605 Requiem. Musical works
created by composers Tomas Luis de Victoria, Ludovico da Viadana and John Sanders will be performed
on Monday’s program. The second half of the concert will focus on the music of Spain and England;
which includes William Byrd’s double motet “Ne irascaris, Domine.” After the founding of a mixed voice
choir in 1972, The Choir of Clare College has gained an exemplary reputation as one of the world’s
leading vocal groups. The concert will be held at WSU campus and will be easily accessible to Utahans.

“This concert features the only performance in Utah of a world-renowned choir,” said Scott Sprenger,
Dean of Students at Weber State University. “The Choir at Clare College Cambridge will bring a musical
performance that audiences will not want to miss,” said Sprenger.

Tickets for the concert cost $8 for students, seniors and military. Admission price for all other adults is
$10. Tickets to see The Choir at Clare College, Cambridge can be reserved online. For more information

Browning Center, which is located at, 1901 University Cir, Ogden, UT 84408. All individuals are
encouraged and welcome to attend this nationally-acclaimed concert. Each year, the Weber State
University’s Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) works toward creating and maintaining itself as a leader in
Northern Utah of performing arts education and cultural life. The OCA does this by striving to find
appropriate and entertaining performances to present to the community.
